Four traders were on Monday crushed to death on the Ibadan-Oyo motorway when a truck rammed on a taxi at the deplorable portion of the road.
TRUCK: Several parts of the main road became deplorable as travelers agonize daily over the condition of the road.
The accident created different motorists to yell upon seeing the victims lying lifeless on the road.
The accident, that occurred close to the overhead bridge in Akinyele space of urban center in the Ibadan metropolis, our correspondent gathered, happened when the truck rammed into the taxi.
Eyewitnesses who witnessed the accident said it was caused by the failure of the truck’s brake, he could not avoid hitting the taxi as much as tried.
The corpses of the deceased and 2 survivors who sustained various degrees of injury, were taken to the State Hospital, Adeoyo.
The accident, that occurred at about 3pm, caused traffic grindlock on the busy road.
The Public Relations Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Oyo State, Mr. Seun Onijala, confirmed the accident.
Onijala aforesaid a team of FRSC personnel in Akinyele had been sent to the scene as of press time, adding that normalcy would come back among hours, and urged motorists to not panic concerning the traffic state of affairs
