Tunde Ednut Tinubu campaign allegation — Popular social media influencer, Tunde Ednut, has stirred fresh controversy online after alleging that a staggering ₦800 billion from government coffers was diverted into President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s alleged second-term campaign preparations.
The explosive allegation, which surfaced in a viral video shared on X, also mentioned Governor Hope Uzodinma, accusing him of overseeing the alleged diversion of public funds.
In the now-trending clip, Tunde Ednut said:
“N800 billion from government coffers was diverted into Tinubu’s campaign under the watch of Gov. Hope Uzodinma. This N800 billion is money meant for the people, yet it is now being used for Tinubu’s second-term campaign while Nigerians are suffering daily.”
The statement has since generated heatedo reactions across social media platforms, with many Nigerians demanding transparency and accountability from public office holders.
Critics of the current administration argued that such an allegation, if proven true, would further deepen concerns over corruption, economic hardship, and misuse of public resources at a time millions of Nigerians continue to battle inflation and rising living costs.
Meanwhile, supporters of the ruling government dismissed the claims as politically motivated and unverified, insisting that no official evidence has been presented to back the accusation.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Presidency nor the office of Governor Hope Uzodinma had officially responded to the allegation circulating online.
Political observers, however, believe the controversy may intensify conversations surrounding Nigeria’s political climate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
