
The US airstrike Sokoto incident has triggered fresh security concerns as new details continue to surface.
Local authorities have now confirmed that the strikes affected multiple locations across Sokoto State.
According to officials, the US airstrike Sokoto operation targeted suspected terrorist routes and camps in border communities.
The development has raised questions about casualties, security presence, and cross-border intelligence.
US Airstrike Sokoto Hits Tangaza Bush Paths
In Tangaza Local Government Area, council chairman Isa Saleh Bashir confirmed that the strikes hit bush paths.
He said suspected terrorist camps were among the targets.
Speaking to the BBC, Bashir explained that villages, including Tandami, were affected.
However, he said officials had not confirmed casualty figures.
Despite that, Bashir acknowledged that injuries were recorded.
He also revealed that armed group members reportedly fled the area.
According to him, Niger Republic security forces saw Lakurawa fighters escaping after the attack.
The development suggests the strike disrupted militant movement across borders.
US Airstrike Sokoto Sparks Conflicting Accounts in Tambuwal
Meanwhile, a different outcome emerged in Tambuwal Local Government Area.
Residents reported that a device landed behind Jabo General Hospital.
A lawmaker from Tambuwal said the strike occurred within 500 metres of the hospital.
He insisted the location was dangerously close to civilians.
However, eyewitnesses offered conflicting accounts.
One resident said the device landed in an open onion farm without casualties.

Another resident, Hassan Garba, claimed sparks from the explosion caused minor injuries.
Authorities have yet to clarify these reports.
US Airstrike Sokoto Linked to Ghana Military Base
Security sources revealed that the missile was launched from a US aircraft.
The aircraft reportedly operated from a US military base in Ghana.
Intelligence suggested ISIS-linked militants were operating in the area.
Following the strike, Nigerian forces reportedly deployed additional troops.
Security personnel were sent to Gudu, Tangaza, and Binji areas.
The move aimed to prevent militant regrouping.
However, some residents said they saw no security forces.
They also claimed they were unaware of terrorist activity nearby.
