W.H.O. Joins Nursing Mothers, Pregnant Women To Celebrate World Health Day 2025 In Osun (DETAILS PLUS PHOTO NEWS)

WORLD Health Organisation (WHO) joined other experts across health sector on Monday to converge at the Primary Health Centre, Ido-Osun, Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State to celebrate World Health Day 2025.

 

It was a grand occasion to mark the The World Health Day 2025 with all the Stakeholders including pregnant women and nursing mothers.

 

The yearly event was bankrolled and sponsored by the World Health Organization,

Dr. Oluyemi Aduke Ogundun, Director, Medical Services and Disease Control, Osun State represented the Executive Secretary the State Primary Health Care Board while speaking said one of the essence of the program is to give “all pregnant women and new born children quality life such that their future will be secured.”

 

The World Health Day 2025 themed; ‘Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures’, the Osun State Coordinator W.H.O. , Dr. Ojediran Oluwatoyin said “one of the key impact of the World Heath Day is to improve health access of pregnant women. When pregnant women have access healthcare, the pregnancy outcome is better.”

 

Representatives from the NPHCDA, TCI, FP Coordinator, UNICEF, Red Cross, Value Female Network, W.H.O took turns to speak on the annual event to enlighten, sensitize encourage, create awareness on the importance of healthy living for every family.

 

The State Health Promotion Officer, Osun State Ministry of Health, Mrs. Bukola Oyelere equally hinged on the importance of nursing mothers and pregnant women to attend the Health Care facilities as scheduled regularly.

 

The Speakers encouraged women to have balanced diet, child spacing, family planning, equality between male and female child from the beginning and the future. The women were reminded that mutilation against girl-child is still in full force.

 

The pregnant women and nursing mothers were thrilled with a stage drama to encourage antenatal care and child immunization. The drama also displayed the importance and significance of regular visit to Primary Health Care hospitals in every Local Government Areas and wards in Osun State.

The Osun State Coordinator of NPHCDA, Mrs. Olutoye Shadare shed light on the importance of breastfeeding and vaccination given to the State free of charge for the use of the children who always have access to the facility in the State.
