Wike and Tinubu rumour — A political rumour circulating on WhatsApp claims rising tension between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over political developments in Rivers State.

According to the unverified message, an alleged insider claimed that a heated disagreement occurred over the political future of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

The report further alleged that President Tinubu may be considering political alignment strategies involving Rivers State, a move reportedly opposed by Wike. However, no official confirmation supports this claim.

“There was a very heated disagreement over Rivers State politics. It appears the President is exploring a different political direction, while Wike is not in agreement,” the message circulated online stated.

The viral claim also suggests that Wike is allegedly reconsidering his political position within the
All Progressives Congress (APC), though this remains speculative and unverified.

Political observers note that if such tensions exist, they could influence future alignments within Nigeria’s political landscape. Some online narratives have also linked the situation to potential openings for opposition figures such as
Peter Obi, though no evidence supports this claim.

As of now, neither Wike, Tinubu, nor the APC leadership has issued any official statement regarding the rumoured disagreement or defection speculation.

All claims remain unverified and should be treated as social media speculation pending official clarification.
