Federal lawmaker and newly defected member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Oluwole Oke, has described the party’s 2026 governorship ticket in Osun State as “a hot cake,” underscoring the growing political momentum within the APC as the race to unseat the incumbent governor gathers pace.

Oke, a seasoned lawmaker representing the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

In a statement shared via his social media handle on Saturday, June 21, 2025, he expressed confidence that the APC is poised to reclaim Osun State in the forthcoming election.

“It’s certain APC will win. I now understand why the APC gubernatorial ticket has become a hot cake. Both existing members and newcomers are actively pursuing it,” he said.

His comment comes as internal excitement builds within the APC ahead of a high-stakes showdown with Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking a second term under the PDP banner. Adeleke narrowly defeated then-Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the APC in 2022, in what remains one of Osun’s most closely contested gubernatorial elections.
