The Osun State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has condemned the attack on the Osun State governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola in Osogbo on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

In a Press Release by the Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Ismail Abdulazeez made available to SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS, http://www.sojworldnews.com he said the protesters were not responsible for the attack on the governor, looting of Osun Mall, burning of the Post Office. He said the crime was committed by some thugs who took undue advantage of the protests to perpetrate their evil acts.

Every Individual have rights to express their opinion and protest on abuse of different kinds against them. We want to salute the effort of Osun youths who went out and express their anger against #policebrutality. History will not forget every one of us for what we stand for.
Nothing shall discourage us to stand by the interest of the masses and our future. We want to say we are strongly against police brutality and we stand by this demand.
Equally, attack was made on the youths who are peacefully protesting by hoodlums on three different occasions and the youth stand tall in this regard.

It is unfortunate that we have a mixed crowd during the protest which make many who want to come out set back, and likewise the recent attack on Saturday 17th of October evening on the Governor convoy by thugs is such a disgrace to Omoluabi nature and totally go against what we stand for in Ipinleomoluabi,The NYCN Osun State hereby codemn such act in totality.
Although the security and welfare of citizens is the utmost duty of government and such must be provided accordingly. We demand that government should address her people on his committment to #Endsars brutality and setting up of the special committee to bring an end to this animalistic behaviour of sars as well as the thugs disturbing the state without further delay.
We equally enjoin the youths not to vandalize property and cause any unrest in the course of this protest.
Conclusively, It was a sad moment for us to received the news of two youth who lost their life during this uproar. Live on heroes.
We will be releasing our next line of action soonest. Let it be known that it is not the protester that burn post office or scattered Osun mall, it is the work of unscrupulous element (thugs ) who use the medium of the pandemonium to perpetrate their evil act.
We enjoin the youth to calm down and not destroy property.”
