A Political Icon in Ekiti State, Basorun ‘Dare Owotomobi has been conferred with honorary Doctorate Degree in “Politics and Corporate Governance” by the British American University, Florida, USA.

Basorun Owotomobi was decorated alongside seventeen other Awardees both Nigerians and Foreigners who were chosen based on their exemplary performance in different fields.
Some of the awardees are; Dr. Mitar Lutovac, Dr. Friday Kayode Owolabi, Dr. Riyas Suleiman Lebbe, Dr. Abayomi Gbenga Ojekunle, Rtd DCP Bosede Dawodu and Dr. Balarabe Mohammed.

Present at the ceremony held in Abeokuta, Ogun State were Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Muhammad Omolaja ,Pro-chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kuyong and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ken Rabak, the University Librarian, Prof. Gajo Milan Vanka and the Registrar, Dr. Ramona Birau.
Others include; Prof. Peter Ekong of the Africa Campus and Prof. Bamidele Hanasi who represented Deputy President and members of University Council.

Dr. Dare Owotomobi who hails from Ayetoro Ekiti, is a Political Icon, Entrepreneur, Proprietor and Philanthropist.
