HONOURABLE Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Oluwole Oke has reacted to reported increase in constituency funds to N1,000,000,000 (One Billion Naira).

Speaking on the matter, Hon. Oke said,

“Disclosure and transparency in public office help build trust between government officials and the public.

When leaders are open about their actions, decisions, and financial dealings, it reduces the potential for corruption, fosters accountability, and ensures that policies are made in the best interest of the people.”

He highlighted that the 2025 Appropriation Act, which is a public document, allocates over One Billion Naira to the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency specifically for roads and other social infrastructure projects.

Hon. Oke expressed gratitude to the President and the Rt Hon Speaker, Hon. Tajudeen Abass PhD, stating,

“This did not come easily. We must thank Mr President and our Leader, the Rt Hon Speaker, who made it possible.”

Addressing concerns about fund access, Hon. Oke clarified,

“Let it be on record that no member of the Parliament has access to this fund. The fund is managed in line with laid-down procedures anchored by the provisions of the Public Procurement Act 2007.”

As the nation approaches the 2027 general elections, Hon. Oke warned about potential political attacks, saying,

“We must brace up for all sorts of blackmail and mudslinging. I am available for public scrutiny.”
