The contractors said they had completed various government projects but had not been paid for several months.
They described the situation as financial hardship caused by government delay.

“We have completed our jobs in good faith, yet we are being ignored,” one contractor said.

The protest escalated as security presence increased around the ministry.
However, the contractors maintained that their demonstration remained peaceful.

They warned that failure to resolve the issue could force them into further action,
including returning to project sites.

The contractors are demanding immediate payment of the ₦30 billion owed to them.
They insist that swift intervention is necessary to prevent further escalation.
