Former Governor of Lagos Governor and current Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, for the first time, granted interview in Yoruba on the State of the Nation.

This time, it was with BBC Yoruba on the continuous borrowing by the Federal Government.
He said, it was not President Muhammadu Buhari that borrowed money, it was Nigeria that borrowed money, Buhari only did the borrowing on behalf of Nigeria.
When confronted with a question why the government is borrowing for the generation yet unborn. He said should the government wait until such children are born before building all the infrastructures the goverment is building?
Fashola said we cannot eat our cake and have it. He added that, it is either we borrow or government increase tax payable by Nigerians.
