
JUST IN: The Rivers State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the tragic death of the three children of Mrs. Amarachi Promise Esomonu after a learner driver allegedly crashed into their residence in the Ogbunabali area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Eyewitnesses said the tragic incident happened on May 15, 2026, when a man allegedly taught his girlfriend how to drive. During the lesson, the woman reportedly lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the family’s home, killing the three siblings aged 10, 4, and 3 instantly.
The grieving mother, Mrs. Amarachi Promise Esomonu, has continued to demand justice in emotional viral videos circulating online.
“Every day my alarm rings, but there are no kids for me to prepare for school again.”
Witnesses also claimed the boyfriend tried to switch seats with the woman immediately after the crash in an alleged attempt to avoid responsibility before neighbours stopped them.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, ASP Grace Iringe-Koko Agabe, said Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju had ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
The Police Command expressed sympathy to the bereaved family and assured Nigerians that officers would ensure justice prevails.
The incident has triggered outrage across social media, with many Nigerians calling for stricter regulations against informal driving lessons in residential areas.
