Troops Storm Terror Hideouts, Rescue Abducted Women and Children, Neutralise Boko Haram Fighters in Fierce North East Operations

Operation Hadin Kai rescues abductees — Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded fresh operational successes under Operation DESERT SANITY. Specifically, they rescued abducted civilians, neutralised terrorists, and arrested suspected collaborators across the North East theatre.

Meanwhile, acting on credible intelligence, troops conducted a clearance operation along the Amuda–Gava corridor in the Mandara Mountains on 14 May 2026. During the operation, they intercepted and successfully rescued six abducted women and children from Ngoshe community. The victims had been held captive by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists.

Furthermore, the rescued persons include Amina Salihu (52), Aishatu Musa (50), twin sisters Hassana and Hussaina Abubakar (9), Adamu Zakariyya (12), and Usman Zakariyya (10).

Subsequently, troops evacuated the victims to the 26 Task Force Brigade Medical Reception Station. There, they immediately provided medical attention. Afterwards, they handed them over to their families through community leaders, including Bulama Mallam Bulama Kunda and Chief Imam Mallam Auwalu Hudu.

In addition, Brigadier General Nasirudeen Abdullahi assured residents of sustained rescue operations. “We will continue until all abducted persons are safely reunited with their families,” he stated.

Similarly, authorities confirmed that troops have rescued 60 women and children since the March 3, 2026 attack on Ngoshe community. Moreover, religious leaders offered prayers for the success of ongoing operations.

Elsewhere, troops recorded additional successes in coordinated operations across the theatre. For instance, they neutralised terrorists in Konduga Local Government Area. In the same vein, they arrested suspected collaborators in both Konduga and Yobe State axes.

Likewise, Sector 1 troops conducted a successful operation at Bazamri village in Konduga LGA. As a result, they neutralised two Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists. In addition, they recovered logistics supplies, including detergent, salt, and a carton of spaghetti.

Notably, no troops suffered casualties. Consequently, troops repositioned to sustain offensive pressure on insurgents in the area.

In another development, troops at Mainé checkpoint in Yobe State arrested a suspected Boko Haram collaborator, Ibrahim Alhaji Julo (30). Acting on intelligence, they intercepted him while he moved in a red Golf vehicle with registration number KTG-397AA (Bauchi State).

Preliminary investigations indicate that he allegedly transported terrorist elements and facilitated illegal tax collection in communities. Accordingly, troops recovered a mobile phone and cash from him. They have since handed him over for further investigation.

Finally, the Joint Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to sustained operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, rescuing abducted civilians, and restoring peace, security, and economic stability across the North East.

Meanwhile, the Military High Command commended troops for their professionalism and resilience. It further urged them to maintain the current operational momentum.
