A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and member representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, has congratulated Mr Diji Charles Akinola on his appointment as the pioneer Managing Director of the Southwest Development Commission (SWDC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT), GCFR.
In a statement released to the press, Hon. Oke described the appointment of Mr Akinola as a welcome development and a strategic move towards fostering sustainable development across the Southwest region.
He commended the President for choosing a technocrat with proven capacity and deep understanding of regional development dynamics.

Hon. Wole Oke wished him all the best in his new position, expressing optimism that he would excel and contribute significantly to the development of the South West region.
Hon. Oke, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, noted that Mr Akinola’s wealth of experience in public policy and development administration makes him an ideal fit for the crucial role.
He expressed confidence that the new MD would bring transformative leadership to the commission and fulfil its mission of driving growth across the region. This is a well-deserved appointment, as it reflects Mr Akinola’s dedication and competence, Hon. Wole Oke affirmed.
The federal lawmaker also extended his profound appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Asiwaju Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola, for his leadership and unwavering commitment to the progress of the Southwest. “We in Ijesa land are truly grateful for this thoughtful appointment and the steady hands of leadership at the national level,” he added.
Hon. Oke further called for collective support for the new leadership of the Southwest Development Commission, urging stakeholders and citizens to work together in harnessing the full potential of the region through unity, innovation, and developmental focus.
