Borno senatorial race 2026 – The Deputy Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly has withdrawn from the senatorial race and endorsed
Ali Ndume ahead of the upcoming elections.

He announced the decision during a press briefing in Maiduguri on Thursday. Moreover, he explained that he acted
after wide consultations with political stakeholders, party leaders, and constituents.

“I have decided to step down from the senatorial contest in the interest of unity and progress,” he said.
