
Governor Monday Okpebholo has assured residents that newly constructed and rehabilitated roads under his administration will stand the test of time, lasting more than 50 years.
Furthermore, the governor made this statement while inspecting ongoing road projects across key locations in the state. He emphasized that quality remains the central focus of his infrastructure drive.
“Our goal is simple. We are building roads that will serve this generation and the next. These roads will last more than 50 years if properly maintained,” Okpebholo said.

In addition, he explained that his government has adopted stronger engineering standards and stricter supervision processes. Consequently, contractors must meet higher durability benchmarks before project approval.
Meanwhile, he warned against substandard work and stressed that his administration will not compromise on quality. “We will not accept half measures. Every project must meet global standards,” he added.
Also, he noted that durable infrastructure will reduce long-term maintenance costs and improve economic activities across the state. Therefore, the government continues to prioritize road connectivity in both urban and rural areas.
Moreover, residents have expressed optimism about the ongoing projects, saying improved roads will boost transportation and business operations.
Ultimately, Okpebholo reaffirmed his commitment to sustainable development, stating that his administration will continue to invest in long-lasting public infrastructure.
