Largest meth lab in Nigeria — The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered what officials described as the largest methamphetamine laboratory ever discovered in Nigeria during a major operation in Ogun State.

According to reports, NDLEA operatives stormed a massive meth lab hidden deep inside a forest and arrested three Mexican nationals alongside several suspected cartel-linked operatives.

Authorities also recovered methamphetamine valued at over ₦480 billion during the raid.

Security sources revealed that the operation followed weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance. Consequently, operatives successfully dismantled the illegal facility before the suspects could move the drugs to other locations.

“This is one of the biggest breakthroughs in Nigeria’s fight against transnational drug trafficking,” a security source reportedly stated.

Furthermore, officials said the discovery exposed the growing involvement of international drug cartels in Nigeria’s narcotics trade.

Photos circulating online showed heavily armed operatives guarding the forest facility while investigators inspected containers and production equipment allegedly used for meth production.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have continued to react strongly to the development, with many praising the NDLEA for intensifying its crackdown on organized drug networks across the country.

“This raid sends a strong warning to criminal syndicates operating in Nigeria,” another source added.

The NDLEA has yet to release the full identities of the foreign nationals arrested as investigations continue.
