Ogun Police bandits camp raid — The Ogun State Police Command has reportedly dismantled a suspected Fulani bandits camp along the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road.
The operation followed intelligence supplied by local residents. Security operatives carried out the raid with support from local hunters and vigilantes.
During the operation, officers arrested two suspected camp leaders identified as Seriki Mohammed Abdullahi and Mohammed Bello.
Police also recovered firearms and a large sum of money from the camp.
Residents said the raid caused panic among other gang members. Several suspects reportedly fled into nearby forests.
A community source explained that residents alerted security agencies about the movement of suspected criminals in the area.
“The police acted quickly after receiving information from members of the community. Local hunters also supported the officers during the operation,” the source said.
Furthermore, security operatives reportedly set the camp on fire after completing the raid. They aimed to stop the suspects from returning to the location.
Sources also disclosed that two suspected bandits died during a gun battle with security personnel.

“Some suspects escaped into the thick forest. However, local hunters have already surrounded the area. Security agents are still searching for the fleeing members,” another resident stated.
The operation has generated reactions from residents and commuters. Many people had complained about insecurity along the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode corridor.
Several residents praised the cooperation between security agencies and local communities. They stressed that intelligence sharing remains important in the fight against crime.
