
Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi PDP candidate — Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election.
Akinyemi secured victory after defeating fellow aspirant, Dr. Adejoke Adekambi Akinseye, during the party’s selection process.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Akinyemi expressed deep appreciation to the party leadership, stakeholders, and members across the federal constituency for the confidence reposed in him.
“I sincerely thank the leadership of our great party at the federal constituency level, our respected stakeholders, and all party members for their unwavering support and trust,” he said.
Furthermore, he praised the leadership style and coordination efforts of former Oyo State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Hazeem Gbolarunmi.
“I must specially acknowledge the exceptional leadership quality of His Excellency, Hazeem Gbolarunmi, whose coordination and commitment greatly strengthened the process,” Akinyemi stated.
In addition, the PDP candidate commended the party’s South West leadership as well as the national leadership for providing direction and stability.
“The outstanding leadership at the South West level and the national leadership of our party have continued to inspire confidence among members. Their dedication to unity and progress remains commendable,” he added.
Akinyemi also expressed optimism about the 2027 general election, stressing that victory remains achievable through unity, hard work, and God’s grace.

“By the grace and mercies of God, we are optimistic of victory at the polls. We will continue to work together for the progress of our constituency and the success of our great party,” he concluded.
The emergence of Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi is already generating reactions among PDP supporters in Oyo State as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections.
