MR. FEMI Falana (SAN) is a well known name in legal profession, his doggedness in defending the rights of the oppressed is legendary. He brought life to the cross examination of the defendant, Miss Adedeji Adesola, a Receptionist with Hilton Hotel and Honours as a leading prosecutor at the Osogbo High Court (1), Osogbo on Monday, May 30, 2022.
The case was the alleged murder of an MBA-EXECUTIVE student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, Mr Timothy Oludare Adegoke on November 6, 2021 at the hotel owned by Dr. Rahman Adedoyin.
The court was filled to the brim as it was the turn of the 7th defendant, Miss Adesola Adedeji a Receptionist at the Hilton Hotel and Honours where Timothy Oludare Adegoke was allegedly murdered.
Falana came into the scene with pointed questions at the Receptionist.
In the cross examinations, Adesola threw more lights into when the CCTV camera was removed, her meeting with Dr. Rahman Adedoyin, his son Prince Roheem Adedoyin and the Manager of Royal Hotels and Honours, Moshood Quadri and what she knew about the alleged death of Timothy Adegoke.

Falana: Did you make any statement at the Police Station?
Adesola: Yes Sir.
Falana: Can you recognize the statement you made.
Adesola: Yes Sir.
Falana: Is that your statement? (The statement she made to the police was shown to her)
Adesola: Yes sir.
Falana: At about 8pm on that day Raheem Adedoyin came to you?
Adesola: Yes sir.
Falana: Between 9-10pm Dr Rahman Adedoyin also came to that hotel, is that right?
Adesola: Yes sir.
Falana: What did he come to do?
Adesola: Dr Adedoyin came to check the welfare of the staff and the management.
Falana: The Chairman held some discussions with the Manager and his son, Roheem Adedoyin, did you know what they were discussing?
Falana: You were curious, you were surprised, is that correct?
Adesola: No
I asked Moshood where is the TV he said when he resumed he did not see the TV. I told him no problem that the TV cannot be stolen or taken out from the hotel.
Falana: The guest came in on the 5th, were you surprised you did not see the guest?
Adesola: I was not surprised.
Falana: Kazeem Oyetunde was on duty on 5 and 6th?
Adesola: Yes Sir
Falana: You did not stay together with Kazeem all night?
Adesola: No Sir.
Falana: Let’s go to the Meeting in Chairman’s house on the 11th You held two meetings in the house with Raheem Adedoyin and the other person?
Adesola: Only two of us meet.
Falana: The two of you met and Raheem suggest that the person in the room was Adewale Lekan?
Adesola: No. He did not. He only provided another receipt which was in person of Adewale Lekan’s name.
Falana: Raheem suggest to you that the person on room 305 was Adewale Lekan?
Adesola: He did not tell me the name, he only told me about the receipt.
Falana: He gave you a fresh recept to fill that’s in respect of Room 305?
Adesola: No Sir, he only mentioned the receipt.
Falana: Is that receipt 7316?
Adesola; Yes sir.
Falana: You woite Adewale Lekan on the form you were given and signed?
Falana: Did you not know that Timothy Adegoke was killed?
Adesola: No Sir.
Adesola: Now look at your bank statement, he made the payment of N103k on the 8th November 2021. When you were confronted with the account are they thesame?
Adesola: I can’t remember
Adesola: The checkers signature was not on the ledger?
Adesola: Yes Sir
Falana: The signature on the account was not yours?
Adesola: Yes Sir
Falana: Whose signature was in the account?
Adesola: I don’t know.
Falana: Why were you transfered from the hotel?
Adesola: I was not transfered only Magdalene
Falana: Was the transfer to your knowledge?
Adesola: Yes sir
Adesola: You have 16 guests on November 5, 2021?
Adesola: Yes sir
Falana: Which other guests income did not go to company account?
Adesola: I don’t know?
Falana: At the Police Station you were given a list of 15 guests instead of 16?
Adesola: Yes Sir.
Falana: The guest who was not on the receipt was the only guest, Timothy Adegoke.
Adesola: Yes sir.
Meanwhile, Adesola said her monthly take-home salary was N25,0000.
The case was adjourned to June 27, 2022 to enable the Judge complete the long printout for the defence and prosecuting lawyers for adoption.
An interview session was held outside the court with Femi Falana.
When asked when it would be the turn of the first defendant, Dr. Rahman Adedoyin to give evidence, the erudite Lawyer said he (Adedoyin) decided not to give evidence.
