TROUBLE Looms In Osun Again As APC, PDP Fight For The Control Of Boluwaduro Local Govt

THE end may not have been seen yet on who is in control of Osun Local Government in Osun State between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Two opposing letters to the public from Boluwaduro Local Government on behalf two rival Chairmen belonging to two different political parties emerged online.

The two letters was signed by Saheed Omokanye, Media Unit, office of the Chairman Boluwaduro Local Government representing the PDP, the other one was signed by Saheed Omokanye Media Unit, office of the Chairman Boluwaduro Local Government representing the APC Chairman.

Hon. Alhaji Abdulazeez Bayo Oyekanmi claimed that he was duly elected from the APC, the name of the PDP Chairman was not written on the first letter.

The letter from the PDP Chairman directed the public to come for their Identification Letters while the APC Chairman urged the public to disregard the letter.  He claimed the PDP signatory to the first letter was an impostor and that he is the authentic Chairman, therefore, the public should disregard the letter.

This is to inform all concerned individuals that their Local Government Identification Letters are now ready for collection.

You are hereby requested to come to the Boluwaduro Local Government Council Secretariat for pickup during official working hours.

A valid means of identification

Two (2) recent passport photographs

Our attention has been drawn to a press release dated May 2, 2025, issued by one Aina Abayomi Adesina, who falsely parades himself as the Executive Chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government under the guise of the PDP-led administration.

We categorically state that the authentic and legally recognized Executive Chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government is Hon. Alhaji Abdulazeez Bayo Oyekanmi, duly elected by the people and mandated by law.

Any other individual or impostor parading himself in that capacity is not only illegal but also toying with the grave consequences of impersonation and criminality, including the risk of prosecution and imprisonment.

It is unfortunate that the PDP in Boluwaduro has completely lost its way, resorting to propaganda and unauthorized announcements in a desperate attempt to mislead the public and cover their illegitimacy. This is not only irresponsible but a blatant abuse of public trust.

We wish to remind the good people of Boluwaduro Local Government that governance is a serious mandate—not a theatre for political jesters. Let it be known that no amount of false claims can override the will of the people or the authority vested in the legally elected leadership.

The public is hereby advised to disregard the earlier press release and remain law-abiding. We also urge all stakeholders to channel complaints or official matters only to the duly constituted authority led by Hon. Abdulazeez Bayo Oyekanmi.

In line with our commitment to good governance and service delivery, we also call on all residents to visit the Boluwaduro Local Government Secretariat to collect their authentic Local Government Identification Letters.

Our doors are open, and officials are on ground to attend to all citizens in a lawful and transparent manner.
