SENATOR representing Osun East Senatorial District, Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, has unequivocally debunked the rumour making the rounds about his alleged defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Senator described the rumour as a desperate ploy by opposition elements to mislead the unsuspecting public and destabilize the unity and progress currently enjoyed under the leadership of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Senator Fadahunsi reaffirmed his absolute loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his total commitment to the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who he described as
“the face of development and good governance in Osun State.”

“Let me make it abundantly clear – I am not leaving the PDP. I remain a loyal and committed member of our great party. The rumour of my defection to APC is a fabrication, a lie cooked up by desperate individuals whose political relevance is fading fast,” Senator Fadahunsi stated.
“Governor Adeleke is performing wonders in Osun East and across the state – why would any forward-thinking leader abandon such a transformational government?”
The Senator praised Governor Adeleke for executing people-oriented projects, especially in Osun East Senatorial District. These include the ongoing construction of a flyover bridge at Ile-Ife and the dualization of brewery Imo express way to Ereja Square-Ilesa Roundabout road, and the massive funding and repositioning of the University of Ilesa. According to him, these visible, life-changing projects are testimonies of Governor Adeleke’s unmatched commitment to the welfare of Osun citizens.
In reaffirming his grassroots popularity and achievements, Senator Fadahunsi highlighted his numerous constituency interventions, particularly in Ijesa North. These include:
- Construction of major rural access roads from Idominasi to Ilase Ijesa, Obòkun Local Government
- Installation of solar-powered street lights across key communities of Osun East
- Provision of ultramodern solar boreholes across Osun East
- Distribution of high-yield hybrid seedlings to farmers of Ìfẹ ijesa
- Empowerment of youths and women through sustainable programmes.

“These are not promises. These are achievements. Tangible, life-changing, and ongoing. The people of Ijesa North know who is working for them. We are committed to their wellbeing, and they are solidly behind us and the PDP,” he said.
Reacting to the recent defection of Hon. Wole Oke to the APC, Senator Fadahunsi urged the public to ignore what he termed “a self-serving political drama that has no impact on the structure or popularity of the PDP in Ijesa North.”

“With all due respect, Hon. Wole Oke’s exit changes nothing. He rode on the back of the PDP for years, and his relevance is tied to the party he just abandoned. In Ijesa North, PDP is the people’s party. They are not following any individual—they are following the record of performance, the leadership of Governor Adeleke, and the commitment of leaders like myself and prominent others,” he emphasized.
Senator Fadahunsi concluded by calling on PDP faithful across Osun East to remain steadfast and focused, assuring them that the Adeleke-Fadahunsi vision for a greater Osun is fully on course and unstoppable.
