Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi Condemns Kidnap of Adelabu’s Sister, Calls for Urgent Security Action in Oyo

Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi on Oyo insecurity — The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency, Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi, has called on the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde to take proactive steps to address the growing security challenges across the state.

Akinyemi expressed deep concern over the reported abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, said to be the sister of APC governorship aspirant Chief Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons within the Ibadan metropolis.

According to him, the unfortunate incident is a sad development that highlights the worsening security situation in Oyo State. He noted that the kidnapping, which reportedly occurred within the state capital, raises serious concerns about the safety of residents and the effectiveness of existing security measures.

“The reported abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons is a disturbing and unfortunate event. It underscores the urgent need for stronger security interventions across Oyo State. Government and security agencies must rise to the challenge and reassure residents that their lives and property remain protected,” Akinyemi said.

The PDP federal constituency candidate urged Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to intensify efforts toward tackling insecurity through improved intelligence gathering, enhanced collaboration with security agencies, and increased support for community-based security initiatives.

He also appealed to security personnel to act swiftly and professionally to secure the immediate release of the victims and ensure that those responsible for the crime are apprehended and brought to justice

“I call on all security agencies to deploy every available resource toward rescuing the victims unharmed. The perpetrators must be tracked and prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others involved in criminal activities,” he added.

Akinyemi further urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations and strengthen efforts to combat crime in the state.

He expressed solidarity with the affected family and prayed for the safe return of the abducted woman and her twin sons.
